My son came home with the funniest birthday party invitation

Let’s face it: attending a birthday party with your child when you don’t know the parents can be awkward AF.

The dreaded small talk is unavoidable and as soon as you see their Instaworthy decorations and multi-tiered cakes, the comparison game is well and truly on.

But one mom with a solid sense of humor wants to put other parents at ease when they attend her kid’s party.

So she sent out the most hilarious, relatable and no-BS invite ever.

After receiving said invite, mom, Nat, took to TikTok to share it with her followers.

It read: “Evan, you are invited to [Insert Child’s Name Here] fifth birthday party. This event is brought to you by Pinterest Fails and the Dollar Store, so please set your expectations appropriately.”

The invite then makes light of the fact that kids are super picky and have some weird requests (that inevitably change countless times ahead of the day.)

“As requested, the theme will be unicorns but with rainbows and maybe bats but they should be princesses and also mini and we need dancing lights so dress accordingly.”

“Please pack a bathing suit, sunscreen, etc. in case your sweet baby angels decide our original plan sucks and the pool would be a better time.”

The invite concludes: “If you would like to drop off and run, we support that entirely. If you would like to stay, we will provide adult juice and deny any offers to help (to be polite).”

Nat confirms at the end: “Needless to say, we will absolutely be attending because these are my people.”

“This is the kind of mom I can be friends with.”

With nearly five million views and 699.9k likes, it’s safe to say that fellow parents also appreciated how refreshing the birthday invite was.

“This is incredible. It’s what we’re all thinking when hosting kids’ parties,” one of the top comments read.

Nat replied: “They said the quiet part out loud!!!”

Another mom pointed out, “Lol OMG those parents are the best.”

“I’m glad a parent is finally lowering the standards/expectations because I’m done with these Pinterest/IG-inspired kid parties,” someone else added.

And in a follow-up video, Nat agreed, saying, “I am calling for the official end of these highly-curated, highly-perfected children’s birthday parties.”

She also promised to share a full update after the party in July.

Nat said: “I absolutely will be posting a follow-up and I will bring some ‘adult juice’ to share. I’ve also never met this mom and I’m super super super excited. I think we’re gonna hit it off like besties right from day one. And if you have any ideas on what I should wear for the ‘rainbow princess mini bats dancing lights’ theme, please let me know…”
